William Wordsworth
English Romantic poet (1770–1850) who, with Samuel Taylor Coleridge, helped launch the Romantic age in English literature. He found the sublime in nature and ordinary life. "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud," inspired by a field of daffodils, is among the best-loved poems in the language.
