Found Poetry: Recontextualize

Take existing text and reframe it as poetry. A recipe, newspaper clipping, instruction manual—any text becomes poetry when you select and arrange words intentionally.

The artist's job is curation, not creation. By stripping away context, you create new meaning. Newspapers about war become elegies. Instructions become absurdist comedy. Found poetry is political—by recontextualizing words, you expose language hiding in plain sight.

Try it: take a page, remove every other word, arrange remaining words as poetry. Or blackout most of a text, keep words to create new meaning. This technique is especially powerful when dealing with systems (government documents, corporate speak) where original language is obscene.
